One of if not the most popular aesthetic injections in the world, BOTOX® Cosmetic is a neuromodulator. It is designed to temporarily weaken the muscles that cause wrinkles, to give a more youthful results.

Many lines and wrinkles form on the face as a result of everyday aging. By arresting muscle contractions, BOTOX® Cosmetic smoothes frequent problem areas like:

• Wrinkles on the forehead
• Brow furrows
• Crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes
• Perioral lines that form along the lips (a.k.a., “smoker’s lines”)
• Marionette lines (occurring from the corners of the mouth)

BOTOX® Cosmetic is also effective at treating a “gummy smile.” Precision injections around the mouth can reduce the elevation of the upper lip, resulting in greater balance between the smile line and the gum line.

In addition to addressing a wide variety of cosmetic concerns, BOTOX® is also effective for therapeutic purposes like teeth grinding and clenching of the jaw. Neuromodular injections relax overactive muscles and may provide relief from headaches, jaw pain, TMJ dysfunction, and more.

Another popular cosmetic injectable, Juvederm is a dermal filler. Unlike BOTOX® Cosmetic, which alleviates wrinkles and lines by relaxing the muscles, Juvederm reverses signs of aging by correcting volume loss in the face.

Juvederm injections comprise a smooth gel that is administered to plump folds and lines. It is effective in trouble spots like the nasolabial folds (a.k.a., “laugh lines” or “smile lines” from the bottom of the nose to the corners of the mouth) and to address thinning lips.

Another application for Juvederm that a dentist is especially well-situated to provide: combating dark triangles between teeth.

As we age, undergo certain dental treatments, or experience oral health issues, gum tissue may recede or the teeth may change position. These changes leave empty spaces in the smile that can be hard to overlook.

Filler treatment with Juvederm restores volume to the gums, which can fill in the triangular spaces. Closing these gaps improves the appearance of your smile.

One of the many members of the Juvederm collection of fillers, Juvederm Voluma is specially designed to restore volume to the cheeks. It also has the distinction of being the longest-lasting filler currently available, with results persisting for up to 2 years.

The cheeks form the majority of the border around the mouth. As such, cheek augmentation can enhance the benefits of cosmetic dental care.

Our dentists have extensive training in the “golden proportion,” or how to create harmony between the teeth and the facial features. The proportion is different for every patient based on the size and shape of their face, as well as their smile.

In dentistry, the most common use of laser technology is for soft tissue. Cherry Creek Dentistry does use state-of-the-art lasers for diagnosis of dental issues, as well as treatment of gum disease and correction of a gummy smile. In addition, our facial aesthetics services include a sophisticated Viora laser with multiple modalities for skin rejuvenation, hair removal, and more.

Options for laser skin treatment with Viora include:

• Radiofrequency (RF) for skin tightening and contouring
• Intense pulsed light (IPL) for acne, hyperpigmentation, blotches, hair removal, and broken blood vessels
• Neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser for more aggressive skin rejuvenation and hair removal, as well as treatment of vascular lesions

Your skin may appear red or pink after laser skin treatment, but it will not be obvious that you had the work done. Most patients see final results after six to eight treatment sessions.

The pulsed light destroys the bacteria in the skin responsible for acne outbreaks. Dr. Hargreaves can adjust the wavelengths, pulse duration, and more for optimal comfort and results.

IPL for acne is non-invasive. You may experience some redness or swelling at the treatment site, but the pulsed light will not cause scarring or other long-term side effects.
